Our team

Canada Life Asset Management has over 100 colleagues and includes more than 50 experienced investment professionals, with almost 20 years' average industry experience and ten years' average tenure at Canada Life Asset Management (CLAM). We are seeking an Senior Investment Operations Manager to join the Investments team within CLAM, based in the firm’s London office.

 

Job Summary 

 

Lead and manage the provision of professional investment operations and administration services for CLAM clients to agreed SLAs. This will include client relationship management and reporting. 

 

Act as operational liaison for CLAM’s 3rd party agents and suppliers and oversee service for Middle Office and related Custodian services for CLAM and its clients.

 

Manage a team of Investment Operations Analysts whose focus is to provide essential day-to-day operational services to support portfolio management and trade execution activities in order to meet regulatory and business requirements.

 

Maintain competency under the SM&CR competency regime, required to oversee operational processes, Managers of Certified Functions and to instruct Custody FX & settlement instructions

 

What You'll Do 

 

•    Lead, manage and develop the team responsible for delivering commercial Investment operations services to CLAM clients to agreed SLA levels. E.g. trade & settlement support and monitoring. 
•    Accountability for relationship management with outsourced Middle Office TPA and key operational/data suppliers.  Ensure suitable oversight is performed to required Regulatory standards in respect of any material outsourcing or service delivery from material suppliers. Business accountability for the IBOR – management & monitoring, query resolution, user support and development  
•    Operational lead for key strategic initiatives across all CLAM business lines. Provide operations support for all investment activities including enhancements and expansion of capabilities and establishment of operational processes with external business partners.
•    Responsible for relevant regulatory reporting requirements linked to investment operations services process such as transaction and trade reporting

 

Who You Are 

 

•    Broad experience and understanding of governance, risk and operations for asset management
•    Experienced in delivery of operational service to SLAs 
•    Sound knowledge of the trade lifecycle for mainstream asset classes
•    Knowledge of and experience of working with large third party administrators and other key market participants

 

Qualifications 

 

•    Good first degree in an appropriate subject (or sufficient experience) 
•    Appropriate professional qualifications – IAT, IMC or equivalent
