Job Summary 

 

This is a newly created role central to the development and execution of Canada Life’s corporate and reputation plans, bringing corporate and institutional knowledge to support building our profile and market presence. The role will support the delivery of our corporate comms plans, including spokesperson profile-building internally and externally, and targeted comms to business, institutional and corporate audiences.

 

Responsible for developing and maintaining the corporate comms plan across functions, generating a continuous flow of content working with key stakeholders to align plans and amplify work across key channels i.e. social, PR and B2B.  Create and lead on the annual corporate communications content calendar, aligned with global messaging.

 

Specific responsibility for the delivery of corporate and stakeholder narrative(s) and content from brief to multi-channel execution such as financial results, thought leadership and corporate messaging across multiple formats and channels to agreed OKR outcomes. Creating creative, on-brand, compelling content and messaging which supports our objectives and delivers measurable reputational and commercial outcomes, reporting across the business. 

 

What You'll Do 

 

As part of the Brand and Content team, contribute to ongoing campaign/content strategy planning to build our corporate and spokesperson reputation(s) aligned to the business priorities. Bring corporate and spokespeople narratives to life for our agreed audiences in a compelling way optimising reach and impact and aligning with the wider organisation as required.

 

Lead and own the corporate content plan and calendar delivering campaigns from brief through to execution across multiple channels. Work closely with channel and function subject matter experts e.g. Social, PR, Internal Comms to support the development and delivery of innovative content plans.  Engage with channel owners, design, copywriters, marketing comms and digital teams and any external suppliers to deliver work on time and budget.

 

Ensure that all collateral is maintained and up to date, managing the approval process so that it adheres to brand guidelines, and is signed off by key stakeholders and Technical, Legal, Compliance, Product and Distribution, and any other relevant parties e.g. Lifeco and including external partners, as appropriate.  

 

Ensure that agreed OKR performance metrics are measured and reported, and relevant data monitored, using insight to improve performance over time. Continually review and assess the competitive landscape and market trends and be the corporate comms SME (subject matter expert) in the marketing team.

 

Support governance through timely sign offs and approvals to protect corporate reputation, championing the importance of a strong corporate plan within the business, influencing and managing key stakeholders.

 

Who You Are

 

Solid practical experience in a marketing communications management role is necessary and experience of working in a regulated environment is helpful, for example:

 

  • Strong background and track record in corporate communications to B2B audiences – planning, execution and measurement in all channels, particularly social and digital channels.
  • Creative ability to deliver innovative, compelling and engaging content in a range of formats.
  • Use of data and marketing analytics to improve campaigns over time, including testing and optimisation techniques.
  • Multi-channel knowledge and experience including social, email, content marketing and digital advertising.
  • Experience working with creatives, agencies and other providers of marketing services.
  • Hands-on experience of using marketing systems such as CMS, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, marketing automation and email software, together with experience of project management tools such as Click up.
  • A background in corporate communications is an advantage, preferably with some financial services experience ideally including intermediated and consumer markets.
