Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an equity analyst, specialising in company research to help build out Setanta’s Climate Solutions Equity Fund. You will use your skills at analysing and interpreting information from different sources and use this to make informed recommendations to the fund managers with whom you will work with closely.

Key Accountabilities

Key responsibilities include: 

  1. Responsible for investment research on listed equities. 
  2. Fundamental analytical research. Amongst other items, this includes industry analysis; assessment of company’s operational capabilities and strategy; evaluation of management; detailed financial analysis; risk identification and analysis
  3. Sustainability research focused in understanding how companies and industries contribute towards sustainability objectives such as climate action and healthy ecosystems.
  4. Written and verbal communication of investment research both to the Sustainable Investing Team 
  5. and wider investment teams 
  6. Keep abreast of information that will update your investment thesis by reading company releases and filings, broker and expert network research, attending conferences and wider relevant reading. 
  7. Any other duties as assigned by your manager.


Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills

The ideal candidate should have the following knowledge, experience and skills:

  • 2/3+ years’ experience in a relevant investment or research role
  • Strong demonstrable investment analysis skill 
  • Expertise on environmental sustainability topics
  • Highly numerate with good IT capabilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • High level of communication skills, written and oral.
  • The ability to collaborate and co-operate effectively as part of a team 
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and work consistently to a high standard when under pressure while managing deadlines


The candidate should also demonstrate a strong interest in investing.
Candidates with a relevant qualification, such as the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing, will be at a distinct advantage.

Fitness & Probity:

This role is a ‘controlled function’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank.
