Role Overview

 

  • Reporting to the Head of Security Operations, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic people manager to lead the Endpoint Security team. This team provide security assurance to the business by managing the full technology lifecycle of the suite of endpoint security technology.
  • This role would suit an experienced people manager with a strong technical background, who can draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience, to help secure the business and lead a busy team of security professionals.

 

Part of Security Operations leadership group, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Advise and present to senior leadership from across the business on a wide range of endpoint security topics.
  • Lead a team to develop and implement cutting edge technology to support our security services.
  • Input into and help set the direction of endpoint security for Europe.

Team Background

 

This role sits within our Security Operations department and reports to the Head of Security Operations. This team has oversight/responsibility for:

 

  • Antivirus
  • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
  • Security Incident Event Monitoring (SIEM)
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM)
  • Database Security
  • Endpoint Security Metrics & KPI’s
  • Endpoint Security Strategy & Roadmaps


 

What you will help us to achieve

 

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • The full lifecycle management of the Endpoint Security suite of tooling to ensure their continued operation in accordance with service levels and stated functionality. This includes managing a team to:
     
    • Design, build, deploy and maintain all components of the Endpoint Security solution.
    • Managing and implementing the schedule of change.
    • Seek opportunities to automate, improve service and productivity. 
    • Support and develop team members’ skills, mentor, and coach junior engineers. 

More specific responsibilities will include

 

  • Inspiring and motivating the Endpoint Security team through effective people management, performance management, 1 to 1’s, mentoring and coaching. 
  • The development and implementation of multi years strategic roadmaps for the endpoint security tooling. 
  • Own and manage the relationship with the Endpoint Security vendors and third parties. Establish robust vendor management process to ensure good service and outcomes.
  • Own the budget for Endpoint Security. Ensure all process, such as renewals, quotes, PO, variance analysis and forecasts are managed on time and within budget. Raise business cases where applicable. 
  • Champion and Sponsor projects in the Security Operations area.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert to assess and approve the implementation of security solutions.
  • The main point of contact and the highest escalation point for Endpoint Security.
  • Ensure familiarity with risk management programmes. Identify and remediate risks within the Endpoint Security teams process and technology. Ensure that business risks are identified, and adequate controls are in place. 
  • Key participant in Critical Incident Response Team for major incidents.
  • Identify opportunities or emerging demands and plan for them.
  • Manage the impact of change in relation to technology, products, processes and legislation and lead the team in implementing the change.

What you will need to be successful in the role

 

  • Third level qualification in Information Security or IT, or equivalent work or education-related experience preferable.
  • Ideally three plus years’ experience in a management role and five plus years’ experience in the IT Security industry.
  • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or other industry recognised certification
  • Security Operations, IT, people management, program sponsorship and technical leadership experience is required.
  • Advanced Knowledge in Security Operations architecture and design.
  • Expert in Network and Endpoint Defence strategies.
  • Experience with zero trust solutions and secure by design methodologies.
  • Ability to deal with complex issues and ambiguous situations – dealing with multiple systems and multiple features.
  • Have an ability to identify key influencers and build strong relationships with them.
  • Provides leadership to and advises, coaches and mentor’s less senior staff.
  • Knowledge of information security and risk control frameworks such as COBiT, ISO 27001, ISO 27002, GDPR, OWASP.
