Role Overview
CLE Information Services seeks a Platform Architect to lead the design, development, and management of its Cloud Azure platform and DevOps. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in Azure or AWS, DevOps, and cloud-native technologies, supporting CLE’s digital transformation and growth strategy.
What you will help us to achieve
• Own and drive the roadmap, capabilities, and governance of CLE’s Azure-based DevOps and Cloud Platform.
• Analyse, design, and optimise DevOps and cloud engineering practices across teams.
• Implement automation solutions using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Terraform, and Azure-native services.
• Champion best practices in software development, cloud operations, IaC, CI/CD, observability, cost management, and security.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD environments to accelerate delivery and platform evolution.
• Provide expert guidance to development, platform, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and manage technical operations and platform reliability using Azure-native tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Defender for Cloud).
• Providing expertise to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant, aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Develop reusable patterns, reference architectures, and automation frameworks to standardise platform usage.
What you will need to be successful in the role
Essential Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years’ experience in systems/solutions architecture, with strong exposure to cloud-native and hybrid enterprise environments.
• Deep architectural knowledge of Azure Cloud Platform, including core services, PaaS, Azure DevOps, Landing Zones, and governance.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps; Jenkins also valuable).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for Azure resource deployment.
• Experience with artefact management, release engineering, and automated software delivery.
• Good knowledge of cloud networking (VNETs, private endpoints, load balancers, DNS, firewalls, hybrid connectivity).
• Systems integration experience across multi-vendor and multi-cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of at least one API Gateway (Azure API Management preferred).
• Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes, AKS, Docker).
• Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence)
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience mentoring technical staff and guiding teams through cloud transformation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS, Docker Swarm).
• Experience with Database DevOps/DB CI/CD tooling (e.g., Liquibase).
• Knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry.
• Working knowledge of German an asset.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
