Role Overview

Reporting to the Service Availability Manager, the role will involve (but is not limited to): 

  • Providing second/third level infrastructure technical support across a range of technologies, focussed on Network technologies
  • Infrastructure support for customers in Ireland, UK and Germany 
  • Management of customer technical incidents across Technical Services department

 

Key Accountabilities

Key focus of the role will be on managing and supporting Network Technology incidents in the Services Team and liaising with CTS Networks team for support on related Network technologies and disciplines including:
Firewalls (Checkpoint, NSX, Azure), Load Balancers (F5 and VMWare AVI), DNS, Tumbleweed secure file transfer, troubleshooting performance issues.

 

Services Technical Support team also supports and manages a range of the following technologies, and familiarity with any of these would be an advantage:
Windows/Unix Operating Systems, Messaging technologies, Collaboration technologies, Active Directory 
Storage, Middleware, Virtualisation, Cloud and Database technologies.

 

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills

  • A minimum of 4 years IT experience, working in a Technical Support environment on some of the above technologies, with proven experience in Network technologies.
  • A third level IT qualification 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • The ability to work well in a team environment 
  • The ability to make decisions and to operate independently 
  • Enthusiasm to learn new technologies 
  • The ability to take ownership of issues and responsibility for same 
  • Willingness to work out of hours on occasion 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills
