Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager Technology Risk – Frameworks, Europe, this is a key senior role within the European Technology Risk and Security Team which is a new function of the Office of the CIO, Europe (OCIO). This new role will lead development and maintenance of the IT Policies and Standards Framework. It will support the associated implementation and maintenance of first line technology risk management capabilities to meet the obligations and responsibilities set out in the parent group (Lifeco) Technology Risk Management Policy and associated policies and standards to support the European business segment.  The role will support provision of a consistent structure for European Technology to define, identify, assess, control, measure and report on risk.


The role will involve senior relationship and stakeholder management across multiple lines of business in Europe and Lifeco.

What you will help us to achieve

•    Development, implementation and maintenance of the European Technology IT Policy and Standards Framework, ensuring alignment to Lifeco IT policies and standards and external regulations.  Implementation across European Technology, working with the line of business and CTS Technology Risk & Security Leads.
•    Advice and guidance with IT policy and standards queries.
•    Develop and maintain an IT Policy/Standard Register, including tracking the review and update of documents. Facilitation of review/approval of IT policies and standards within required timeframes, maintaining clear version control.
•    Creation and maintenance of European Technology IT Policy & Standard Lifecycle Methodology outlining the process to develop, publish, communicate, implement, and evaluate adherence of IT policies and standards.
•    Continuous improvement to further strengthen Technology policies, standards, and related procedures, ensuring both alignment to parent group (Lifeco) Technology Risk Management Policy/associated policies and standards and compliance with external regulations.
•    Creation and implementation of a consistent policy and standard requirement adherence assessment to effectively and appropriately evaluate the level and completeness at which the defined IT policies and standards are implemented.
•    Support the interpretation, application and development of the response to new internal and external requirements and regulations (e.g., DORA), advising on the implementation across European Technology.
•    Input to and review of new/amended Lifeco IT policies and standards.
•    To lead on and contribute to IT policy/standard creation where new requirements are identified. 
•    Co-ordinate European Technology attestation to IT policies and standards, driving continuous improvement in maturity.
•    Awareness training to ensure IT policies, standards and associated control requirements are understood and embedded across European Technology.
•    Raise the profile of Technology Risk across European Technology
•    Act as a role model and support the broader leadership activities of the OCIO Risk & Security team, developing the ‘brand’. A member of a highly engaged team recognised for its diligence, subject matter expertise and excellence in delivery.  
 

What you will need to be successful in the role

•    Ideally educated to a degree level.
•    Demonstrated experience in technology risk with supporting qualifications.
•    Significant knowledge and a proven track record in designing and implementing IT policies and standards within a technology environment. Experience working in first line risk or second line of defence desirable.
•    An ability to shape IT policies/standards that fully support overall strategy.
•    An ability to analyse and understand complex regulatory and procedural documentation and quality issues.
•    Excellent report and writing skills and close attention to detail.
•    The ability to partner with and relationship manage senior business executives and technology leaders to connect technology risk and business goals to achieve successful outcomes. 
•    The ability to set clear and challenging goals while committing the organization to improved performance, tenacious and accountable in driving results.
•    The ability to use a combination of logic, analysis, experience and wisdom to solve complex, difficult problems in a timely and innovative way.
