Role Overview

In this role you will be responsible for managing coverage of Vulnerability Management agents; identifying, analysing, and executing remediation activities for exploitable infrastructure-based vulnerabilities according to the corporate standards.

 

Team Background

  • This role sits within our EUX team and reports to our EUX manager.
  • This team has oversight/responsibility for End User Experience, VDI and Vulnerability Management.

 

What you will help us to achieve

  • Fully manage the Vulnerability Management tools and key activities.
  • Remediation of vulnerabilities and the ongoing effort to provide assurance that newly exploited vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner

 

More specific responsibilities will include

As Vulnerability Management Engineer, this role will involve:

  • Contributing towards Security target score/ Tech risk score.
  • Delivering remediation controls to achieve compliance standards.
  • Addressing the ongoing backlog of vulnerabilities on supported workstations & servers.
  • Collaborating with other teams within Central Technology Services and business units
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work as an individual or part of a team, taking ownership of issues and showing determination to follow things through, demonstrating good prioritisation and time management skills
  • Take ownership of changes from initial assessment through to completion, managing outcomes, escalation points and blockages to ensure efficient delivery of changes

 

What you will need to be successful in the role

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • A minimum of 4 years IT experience, working in a Technical Support environment with exposure to Windows & Linux Operating Systems and Network appliances
  • A third level IT qualification
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Team player with strong people skills
  • Drive for customer satisfaction.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic along with ownership for all deliverables
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • The ability to take ownership of issues and responsibility for same 
  • Willingness to work out of hours from time to time.
