Role Overview
The purpose of Irish Life Group Finance, an essential function of the Irish Life Group, is to deliver better business outcomes whilst protecting financial integrity. Focused on our vision of being a trusted partner shaping key decisions, we are seeking to support and influence key business decisions and embed a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Recognising that our key asset is our talented team who are passionate about delivering for our stakeholders, we are looking to complement the team with the recruitment of a Change and Systems Accountant who can work on execution of optimum solutions for Finance at Irish Life.
Reporting to the Finance Change Manager, this is an exciting and varied role where your main responsibilities are to assist with delivery of system and process change, and support sustainment and maturity of systems & processes across our finance landscape.
You will be a key member of the Finance Team that is also responsible for delivering excellent support, expertise, and high-quality management information to our local and global leadership teams in a consistent way.
What you will help us to achieve
• Explore and help initiate new automation opportunities via tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Oracle EPM and Automation Anywhere
• Support business process improvement opportunities though the above, introducing automation where possible, whilst strengthening controls and increasing efficiency and optimising existing business processes.
• Provide subject matter expertise support for Oracle EPM and Automation Anywhere. Assess change requests and development opportunities and determine the most effective approach.
• Actively participate in development to ensure processes are operating at optimal performance levels and in line with business objectives with specific focus on scalability, risk management, controls and data quality.
• Promote the best use practices and effective use of tools and applications within finance community, deliver training to ensure successful tool adoption and upskilling of team members.
• Work closely with IT and business teams to plan and manage system upgrades and developments. Engage with relevant projects to leverage SME expertise
You will also
• Build relationships with colleagues to support our Group Finance requirements and support the wider Group Finance team as needed.
• Be encouraged to seek continual development and improvement in existing and future IT tooling which will help lead to further improvements within Group Finance systems and processes.
What you will need to be successful in the role
• Qualified Accountant (2 years PQE) or Experienced Analyst (5 years’ experience)
• Keen interest in finance systems and data analysis tools
• Ability and desire to deliver process improvement
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Advantage to have
• Data/process automation tool experience (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI, Automation Anywhere etc.)
• Oracle EPM experience
• SAP experience
