Role Overview

Irish Life Health is seeking to appoint a Clinical Services Vendor Specialist for our Clinical Services management team.


Reporting to the Senior Manager Clinical Services, the Clinical Services Vendor Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our 3rd party service partners. In this exciting and diverse role, you will work closely with new clinical service  providers, , to assist with service development. You will have the opportunity to grow your career, enhance your existing skills, and gain exposure to other aspects of the business.


The primary focus of this role will include supporting on project development, contract negotiations, ongoing relationship management and monitoring of the provision of quality, appropriate and innovative services to ILH members. The successful candidate will have a strong commercial focus / good business and financial acumen, experience in negotiations and will be able to demonstrate an ability to work on their own initiative.

 

What you will help us to achieve

The key responsibilities of the role will include: 

 

  1. Work with the clinical and proposition team on the development of new services including RFI process, due diligence and risk management.
  2. Daily proactive contract management of service levels and contractual obligations with all third-party providers.
  3. Liaising with clinical third-party provider queries.
  4. Working closely with the Senior Manager Clinical Services in negotiations, meeting preparations and planning of contracts.
  5. Working on ad hoc problems and service issues as they arise and closing to a satisfactory standard.
  6. Ensuring the reporting of monthly activity, service performance, tracking invoice payments and responding to member queries are completed on time.
  7. Ensuring invoices from providers are paid in line with payment terms.
  8. Oversee contract governance and build strong cross functional working relationships with key business stakeholders such as IT, Claims Operations, Propositions and Risk and Compliance functions.
  9. Leading provider governance meetings as required and ensuring good follow through on follow up actions etc.
  10. Ensuring risk management and business continuity plans are completed for providers.
  11. Complete regular audit on all clinical service providers.
  12. Managing Operations and Quarterly Business Reviews with providers and ensuring operation items are raised and managed through to resolution.
  13. Review of complaints/feedback logs and highlighting service issues to be addressed.
  14. Contract onboarding of new providers.

 

What you will need to be successful in the role

The ideal candidate would have:

  • A relevant specialist third level qualification.
  • Good financial experience, with at least 2 years or more in a similar role, preferably in a Private Hospital or Private Medical Insurer.
  • A strong commercial focus and excellent business acumen.
  • A proven track record in establishing a rapport and trust that facilitates an open dialogue that will ultimately lead to more efficient and transparent negotiation process.
  • Ability to negotiate in a fast moving and pressure situation.
  • Strong understanding of the health industry.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional onsite meetings.
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and improving the member experience.
