Role Overview


  • This is a really interesting role for someone experienced in the creation and execution of  customer communications and will have primary responsibility for the implementation of the Customer Lifecycle Communications programme for Irish Life Health.

Team Background


  • This role sits within our Irish Life Health Marketing team, and reports to our Communications Strategy Manager
  • This team is responsible for Individual Commercial performance; Proposition development and Customer Experience
  • As part of the next phase of our 2028 strategy we will also work integrally with the wider Irish Life Group Customer Team particularly focused on delivering an aligned and singular customer experience.

What you will help us to achieve



  • Understand the marketing strategy and manage relevant priorities within the Marketing plan, taking responsibility for results achieved.
  • Develop and maintain strong day to day relationships across the business, with Agency partners  and with the team.
  • Manage own workload taking responsibility for deliverables and achievement of results.
  • Provide support to colleagues supporting idea generation and decision making.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of team goals. Manage own objectives, and provide support on developing team goals and implementing goals.

More specific responsibilities will include


As the Communications Specialist, this role will involve:


  • Managing Irish Life Health’s Lifecycle Communications Programme through the Kentico/Circulator email platform and measuring the programme’s performance
  • Support the Customer Team in identifying key opportunities to send relevant communications to our customer segments
  • Support the wider business functions with communication development and fulfilment when necessary such as error communications, retention communications, new propositions launches etc.
  • Own and be familiar with the full content of the customer packs and be familiar with all pre- printed material
  • Develop a programme of letter and document changes agreed by the business and aligned with Change programme that will improve our Customer experience
  • Recommend solutions that will improve customer experience, produce a cost saving or drive an efficiency for the business
  • Drive for use of digital communications as an alternative to paper communications
  • Identify latest thinking on communication experiences and propose options for ILH to test and learn
  • Attendance at cross functional project meetings, acting as the point of contact for any customer communications needs
  • Represent the voice of the customer, always recommending the best option that minimises customer effort and gives a better experience for our customers
  • Support the Communications Strategy Manager with activities relating to the Irish Life Health Communications Strategy


What you will need to be successful in the role


  • 3rd level qualification in Business/Marketing or related discipline
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience
  • Experience in design, print and managing suppliers
  • Some experience in marketing campaign planning and dealing with agencies
  • Strong copywriting and proof-reading skills, good creative judgement and good understanding of plain English
  • Awareness of regulatory and compliance framework
  • Strong attention to detail and relationship building skills are vital. 
  • High degree of motivation and enthusiasm 
  • Ability to work on own initiative and learn new skills quickly
