Job Purpose

This is a new role in the Strategic Sales team to drive business development for a new product line for Irish Life Health and will report to the Head of Strategic Sales. We are looking for a results-driven professional to identify, develop and deliver new business opportunities in the corporate market for a new health product

What you will help us achieve

  • Achieve new business sales targets, demonstrating drive and ambition
  • Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities through direct prospecting. Be proactive in developing external relationships to support sales delivery
  • Fully understand customer needs and requirements for targeted business segments, positioning our offering to provide best in class solutions in response
  • Develop specialist product knowledge on the product line becoming a subject matter expert
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to respond to client proposals in a timely manner and to the highest standard including preparing and delivering compelling and tailored customer presentations
  • Support new business development through the provision of quotations, competitor analysis and scheme mobilisation and set up. 
  • Take accountability for accurate business development forecasting through daily use of CRM
  • Feedback client and market insights on an ongoing basis to relevant teams across Irish Life to inform direction and position for commercial opportunities
  • Take responsibility for personal development by consistently and proactively improving personal sales ability, technical skills and industry knowledge
  • Any other duties as assigned by your manager
     

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • Experience in sales and desirable to have experience/ knowledge of the health insurance and/or employee benefits markets 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a commitment to client satisfaction
  • Professional and enthusiastic manner
  • The ability to understand customer needs and demonstrate how Irish Life can support and meet those needs
  • A passion for seeking new ways to differentiate ourselves from our competitors 
  • The drive to consistently deliver high results

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and with other teams in the business.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail specifically regarding reports and written communications
  • Good IT capabilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
     

Desired qualifications and experience

  • Suitably qualified subject to MCC requirements 
  • Third level degree in a relevant discipline is desired
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales and/or managing client relationships

This role is a ‘controlled function’ as set out in the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and defined by the Fitness and Probity Regulations and Standards 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank.
