About the Role

 

In this role you will be responsible for developing data solutions for the numerous business partners that our team interacts with across the company. You will also have the opportunity to provide insightful analysis that will help shape strategy within the company. 

Team Background

 

  • This role sits within our Data Strategy team and reports to our Data Strategy Manager.
  • This team has responsibility for delivering data solutions to our stakeholders within the company to ensure that their decisions are driven by data and ultimately lead to better business and customer outcomes.
  • The team uniquely combines IT, Actuarial and Data expertise and sits within the Customer Solutions Strategy department of Irish Life.
     

What you will help us to achieve

 

  • Gain an understanding of Irish Life’s administration and business systems and extract data from them to efficiently meet business needs.
  • Building data models and visualisations to enable clear communication of data insights.
  • Developing presentations to communicate the outcome of data analysis, both within and outside of the Data Strategy team.
  • Collaborating within the team to develop a fit-for-future data structure.
  • Gain an understanding of the products and business processes within the company.
  • Communicate progress on work within the team and to managers and ensure work is peer reviewed and documented.
  • Ensure data support for customer campaigns is to a high standard and meets campaign deadlines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from across the business on project based work as a representative of the data team.
     

What you will need to be successful in the role

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • An IT, Data Science, Actuarial or Mathematical based 3rd level degree, or relevant business or technical experience.
  • Experience in analytical and programming tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of AI and machine learning and experience in using machine learning algorithms.
  • An analytical and enquiring mind, with the ability to find a solution to complex problems.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to tell the story behind data to our clients and present on this effectively.
  • An ability to plan and organise their work, communicate progress and meet project deadlines.
  • Experience in data modelling and data analytics as part of a project.
  • Fundamental skills and knowledge in database structures and concepts.
  • The capability to work on their own initiative in a demanding environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
