Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Technology, BTS, the Head of Data & Insights will be required to understand the business strategy, to drive delivery of the ILIM data strategy and determine how to most effectively develop the data capabilities needed.
The successful candidate will collaborate with ILIM and wider Irish Life stakeholders and our data partners across Irish Life Group, to drive growth and value for ILIM and the wider group, through the delivery of rich, actionable insights that enhance business outcomes and customer experience.
The person in this role will also ensure that the data is collected, recorded, and used in a consistent, accurate, and compliant manner across the organisation.
The role holder will also play a role in designing and driving ILIM’s approach to innovation including how best to deploy AI across the business to enhance our customer experiences.
What you will help us to achieve
• Deliver the ILIM Data strategy to enable the company to deliver on its strategic objectives. This includes the continued build-out of a new Investments data model deployed on Snowflake.
• Plan, develop and execute on a roadmap of data solutions (insight delivery, reporting, predictive analytics, automation, self-serve) that focus on business benefits and value delivery.
• Ensure ILIM becomes a truly data driven business, understanding more about our business, using insights to inform decisions, deliver growth, improve business performance through data activities.
• Develop a high-performing team of data professionals, provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Consider what innovative technologies, tools and resources are needed to use data more effectively, including the operating model for data, and new ways of working.
• Explore and propose how we can utilise AI and data to drive tangible business value and enhanced customer experiences.
• Be the key advocate for data across the company and connect with the Irish Life Group data analytics and insights strategy, as an active member of the data community.
• Develop & maintain a strong focus on data governance and compliance, ensuring that ILIM comply with relevant and industry standards while maximizing business utility of data.
What you will need to be successful in the role
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• The ability to partner with, influence and relationship-manage diverse business stakeholders to connect data and business goals, bridging the gap between technical and business teams.
• Proven ability to translate business objectives into data strategies and roadmaps.
• Experience in leading a data function and driving value through the delivery of data solutions and analytics capabilities with expert experience of Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Analytics applications.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven track record of successful on-time and budget delivery of projects
• Experience in working collaboratively and cross-functionally to deliver goals.
• Be inquisitive and curious about business and data insights to inform business decisions and strategy.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• A commitment to working in a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering, data science, business, or a related discipline)
