Role Overview

 

This role will report to the Director of Product & Propositions and will have overall responsibility for developing propositions across our Health and Protection portfolios. These propositions will solve real customer problems, drive meaningful differentiation in the market, and support the achievement of our business goals.

Team Background

 

This role sits within Irish Life Advice Solutions (Consumer Insurance business) in the Product & Propositions team.

 

  • The team is responsible for leading the design and development of new products and propositions aligned to customer and partner insights. These propositions are focused on delivering differentiation in the market and supporting the achievement of our commercial KPIs across our multi-distribution network.
  • The team works closely with the Marketing function, who are responsible for activating our propositions in the market, as well as with our distribution channels across Financial Planning (Direct), Bancassurance, Intermediaries, and Digital.
  • This role works in close partnership with the Head of Product & Propositions across Pensions, Savings, and Investments.

What you will help us to achieve

  • Lead the ongoing design, development, and enhancement of our product and propositions strategy for the Health and Protection portfolios, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for the use of consumer insight to identify growth opportunities and challenges in the context of proposition enhancement, development, and review.
  • Be accountable for the use of insights from our distribution channel partners to define opportunities and challenges, ensuring our programme of proposition development differentiates us on the things that matter most.
  • Translate strategy into a clear roadmap across product, pricing, service, distribution, and experience, working closely with Technology and Digital teams to deliver.
  • Collaborate with Pricing to agree pricing parameters across the product range and channels.
  • Work with Distribution and Marketing teams to develop clear value stories and effective sales enablement.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, regulatory change, and emerging risks.
  • Be accountable for the commercial performance of propositions (growth, retention, and profitability).
  • Lead a high-performing team, ensuring 1:1s, personal development conversations, and PDPs are managed in an effective and supportive way, contributing to a strong engagement score.
  • Ensure all propositions are compliant and aligned with regulatory requirements.

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • Significant experience in marketing, product, or proposition development roles (typically 8+ years).
  • Strong leadership capability, with clear examples of developing and leading high-performing teams, as well as influencing cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of new propositions, initiatives, or programmes.
  • An analytical mindset, with experience using data and insight to drive decision-making.
  • Strong experience in consumer research principles and in collating multiple sources of customer insight.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing measurable actions to drive improvement based on insights.
  • Financial Services experience and QFA qualification are beneficial.
  • A third-level qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
