Role Overview
We are looking for a talented Investment Control Specialist to join our Investment Control team on a permanent basis. Investment Control is a key team within the Investment Analytics Area and is responsible for the configuration and management of the rules guiding trading and fund management of our investments.
This role may suit a recent Graduate with some work experience who is passionate about investments or someone looking to advance their financial services career in a specialised area.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in financial markets with a basic understanding of financial products such as bonds, equities, and derivatives. A technical background would be an advantage. The Investment Control Specialist will have frequent interaction with a variety of groups at all levels of seniority including other teams within Business & Technology Services, Compliance, Technology, Relationship Management and Fund Management areas. It would also be great if they are a quick learner and adaptable to learn new processes, concepts, and skills.
This role will involve:
• Configuration, testing and maintenance of compliance rules in the company Trading / Order Management System
• Interpreting investment restrictions from different sources (including regulatory frameworks)
• Ensuring that the guideline interpretations of accounts' restrictions are accurately reflected in the compliance system
• Researching and addressing compliance rule implementation queries from various departments
• Participating in numerous ad hoc projects tied to optimizing and automating the Portfolio Compliance process
• Participating in performing quality control and regression testing prior to compliance system functionality upgrades and enhancements
• Application of client specific and market driven ESG (Ethical Social Governance) restricted lists and policies
Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
• A third level qualification in a business discipline or equivalent work experience
• Strong IT skills and a willingness to learn new business / compliance systems
• A knowledge of MS-SQL or similar language would be beneficial
• Experience with Charles River Order Management System or previous investment coding experience would be an advantage
