Role Overview

•    Irish Life Investment Managers Ltd (“ILIM”) and Setanta Asset Management Ltd (“Setanta”) are key business operations of Irish Life Group Limited (“ILGL”) and in turn part of the Great-West Lifeco (“GWL”) group of companies, 
•    ILIM and Setanta are registered MiFID authorised investment firms whose main business activity is the provision of discretionary portfolio management to institutional clients. Both firms are also registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, 
•    The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the execution of the compliance plans for both investment firms and will have the opportunity to interact with management across various teams in the businesses.  

Team Background

•    The successful candidate will manage of team of three experienced Compliance Specialists. 
•    This role sits within our Investments Compliance team and reports to our Senior Manager -Compliance.  
•    This team has oversight/responsibility for the compliance frameworks for the investment firms. 

What you will help us to achieve

As, Investments Compliance Manager, this role will involve: 


o    Managing a team of three experienced Compliance Specialists
o    Becoming familiar with compliance obligations relating to investments firms and their business activities including European and US regulatory requirements
o    Supporting the Senior Manager-Compliance in the assessment and implementation of new regulatory requirements relevant to the businesses
o    Implementation of a comprehensive Compliance plans and risk -based monitoring programs- identifying, agreeing and monitoring actions to address deficiencies 
o    Ensuring that activities are completed in line with the compliance and operational risk frameworks and plans
o    Implementing and maintaining on an ongoing basis adequate policies, procedures and frameworks designed to detect any risk of failure by the investment firms to comply with regulatory obligations 
o    Managing internal queries and requests for guidance on compliance related matters
o    Developing strong internal relationships with the various business units
 

What you will need to be successful in the role

The ideal candidate will have/be:


•    Relevant professional experience working in an oversight role (Compliance/ Risk) in a financial services company. Relevant regulatory knowledge would be an advantage.
•    A related qualification / experience and/or other financial related qualifications (e.g. law degree / compliance qualification etc).
•    Strong analytical skills 
•    Highly organised with an ability to work across teams to deliver on objectives
•    High level of communication skills, written and oral
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Proficiency in Word, Powerpoint and Excel
