Role Overview

 As a Product Manager, working in the Product & Pricing Team, reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will be required to: 

Own the day-to-day product management process and help lead on product MI, insight and tracking. 

Collaborate with the Proposition Development team on new product development and ensure that Irish Life Health’s product range is comprehensive, competitive & profitable.   

Be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to deliver system readiness for any product changes required.   

Manage Product Design. 

Manage a team of 2 direct reports. 

Key Accountabilities

Product Management 

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure ILH products are innovative and meet customer needs.  Implement and refine processes to deliver product changes and new range launches in a timely manner, including testing. 
  • Support the management and resolution of customer and distributor issues that arise due to either external and regulatory changes or internal & commercial decisions. 
  • Deliver adequate communications to support this with all necessary stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with other functions to ensure the product training materials and communication of product changes to internal stakeholders are appropriate. 
  • Ensure that Irish Life Health products and literature are up-to-date with legislative and corporate changes or any changes required by the business. 

 

Knowledge Expertise 

  • Be a knowledge expert on product benefits, competitor plans / market comparisons, legislation, rules, policy terms and conditions. 
  • Quality, Controls, Governance and Reporting  
  • Ensure familiarity with risk management programmes, how they impact on own area, and follow appropriate risk management procedures to control, monitor and report on business activities. 
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, regulatory, professional and legal requirements. Ensure familiarity with and assist in the development of risk management programmes. 
  • Manage product portfolio & product architecture 
  • Manage the product portfolio to ensure the product architecture meets ILH strategic goals. Ensure the product architecture is a business enabler and not a constraint. 
  • Collaborate with Proposition team to understand the needs of various segments of ILH portfolio and input into continual benefit refreshes to continue to meet those needs.   

Training and development 

  • Produce or sign off on & in some cases deliver product related training. 
  • Help maintain all training material up to date, complete and fit for purpose. 

Product strategy and innovation  

  • Support the Senior Product Manager in the implementation of the overall product strategy for health business. 
  • Ensure that all new product development initiatives are robust and product literature produced are to the highest quality standard. 

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with some commercial responsibility with a proven track record of driving growth in the business.  
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance market in Ireland and associated regulation.  
  • Business management needs and challenges faced by customers, competitors in the space, and emerging trends that could shape new opportunities.   
  • Excellent knowledge of the regulatory rules that govern the product landscape including all rules and regulations set by both HIA, CBI and the Revenue Commissioners where applicable.  
  • This is an F&P role. MMC is required - APA in Health Insurance.
