Role Overview
In this role you will work as part of the IT QA testing team to align with the best test management practices with focus of ensuring the quality of the mission critical systems/applications delivered by the development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning and Co-ordination
- Actively work with QA Lead and enablement teams (PMO, Dev and business stakeholders etc.), and develop the testing documentations/deliverables such as the test approach, timelines, and estimation (incl. effort and resources) etc.
- Together with QA Lead, proactively coordinate and work with project teams to ensure testing related milestones are met throughout the project delivery cycle.
- Collaboratively work with enablement teams on risks and issues with strong focus on solutions.
Test Management
- Test preparation tasks such as development of manual test cases, creation of test data and test scheduling and planning
- Alignment between test coverage and business requirements
- Manual test execution as per project plans
- Defect management including defect identification, triage, logging (in JIRA) and work with developer for fixes deployment.
- Utilization of a variety of systems, applications and technologies across testing work stream and other lines of business
- Reporting and tracking on test progress on a daily/weekly basis with metrics-based approach
Engagement:
- Active engagement with the PMO/Change team and lines of business to provide SME knowledge and testing support where required.
- Collaboratively work within QA team and with other lines of business to deliver BAU and other projects related testing activities.
Quality & Efficiency Management:
- Maintain and evolve existing testing documentations.
- Conduct peer review of quality of other team members’ test outputs
Principal Accountabilities:
Domain knowledge
- Develop expert understanding of the health insurance products, premium calculations, and business processes.
- Use combination of test and business domain knowledge to ensure comprehensive testing coverage for the optimise projects related change requests.
Communication
- Collaboratively work within the enablement teams to understand the business requirements.
- Work with lines of business ensure the development of business acceptance testing scope, test approach/plan, test scripts.
- Actively engage with the enablement teams in terms of risks, issues, dependency, and corresponding proposed solutions in the project delivery lifecycle.
Technology
- Utilise the available tools for test preparation, execution, defect management, reporting and test optimisation.
- Support future implementation of test automation agenda incl. approach, best practice, framework setup and future enhancement where possible as the QA team identifies automation opportunities.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelors Degree in an IT Discipline or equivalent
- 5+ years working as a QA test analyst or similar capacity
- 2+ years of experience using SQL and test management tools i.e. JIRA, Testrail but not limited to
- 2+ years of experience with API testing and automation
- ISTQB or other software testing certifications or equivalent experience
- Experiences with health insurance related IT systems and applications
