Role Overview

This senior role will own the application architecture solution development and Business Analysis for Irish Life Digital & Technology ensuring that we are optimising the technology delivery for our business and customers. They will provide technical direction on all projects across our existing applications, new technologies and Irish Life Group applications working with the business, wider change teams, third party developers and the in-house development teams to optimise project delivery and business outcomes. This role will lead a team of Architects and Business Analysts with responsibility for delivering all Irish Life digital products, for both Irish Life Customers and Partners.

What you will help us to achieve

•    Develop a robust capability, framework, and toolkit for solutions architecture in Irish Life Digital & Technology which meets best in class requirements.
•    Ensure an ongoing design authority is in place for Irish Life Digital & Technology where all solutions are reviewed for core architecture, scalability, performance, and security principles are being met.
•    Represent Irish Life Digital & Technology as the solutions architect on a range of initiatives across the Irish Life Group.
•    On an ongoing basis develop architecture inputs for each project ensuring best use of technology for meeting the existing business need and potential future needs while assessing and documenting the business impact that each choice provides.
•    Work with the business leads and product owners to ensure the necessary information is available to make an informed and robust solution proposal that meets existing and future needs of the business and our customers.
•    Analyse existing technologies and prepare a strategic roadmap of continuous improvements.
•    Account for possible project challenges on constraints arising from each architecture design including risks, time, quality, and scope.
•    Oversight and implementation of a range of technology standards.
•    Work closely with the wider team to ensure robust infrastructure solutions are in place to meet the technology application needs of the organisation.
•    Reporting on vitality and technology health on an ongoing basis.
•    Manage a team of business analysts in delivering technology change in Irish Life.
•    Continual research of current and emerging technologies.

What you will need to be successful in the role

Technology

•    Proficiency in both on-premises and cloud native technologies and solutions such as Azure
•    Experience with methods and standards of solutions architecture.
•    Experience with recent IT topics such as Automation, Machine Learning, Chatbots, RPA. Digital transformation, Azure, .NET, SQL

 

Leadership

•    Proven track record in leading development teams

 

Education / Qualification

•    3rd level degree in Information Technology or other with significant IT exposure & Relevant industry / professional qualification

 

Experience

•    10+ years related experience in a financial service domain.
•    Previous solutions architect experience with knowledge of standard frameworks.
•    People management experience.
