Background

We are looking to add a Fund Administrator to our Trade Support Team within Operations. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to institutional portfolio management and trading, interact with the front office and acquire invaluable knowledge of the world of financial instruments. The opportunity exists to work across two transactional support teams and to gain experience servicing all product types traded by ILIM. 

 

The Trade Support function is serviced out of two teams. The Treasury team support Cash related products such as FX and Deposits and the Settlements team support Bonds, Equities and various derivative instruments. Both teams are responsible for the end-to-end post-trade life cycle of ILIM’s trading activity & associated Regulatory reporting requirements.  Trade Support is responsible for facilitating our clients in meeting their regulatory requirements under European Markets Infrastructure Regulations (“EMIR”) as well as meeting ILIM’s own regulatory reporting requirements under Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (“MIFIR”).
 

The Role

Reporting initially to the Treasury Manager, the successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Monitoring trade confirmations and settlement in various instruments including Deposits, fx, equities, bonds and derivative instruments in global markets. Proactively working with ILIM’s dealing desk, counterparty/broker desks and custodians to investigate and resolve any trade exceptions.
  • Accurately recording all trade activity onto ILIM’s core accounting system on a timely basis.
  • Investigation and resolution of cash and security holding position breaks related to the above products.
  • Oversight of the transaction reporting processes under MiFIR and EMIR on behalf of ILIM and our clients respectively.
  • Identifying and resolving issues adversely impacting our processes and products. Liaising with fund management, other operations teams, custodians, banks and other external third parties.

 

The Person

The ideal applicant will possess the following skills and knowledge: 

  • 3rd level qualification (preferably Finance related).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to recognise and resolve problems as they arise and escalate where necessary.
  • A proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work well within a team environment.
  • Good organisational & communication skills with an ability to build and maintain good working relationships. Flexible approach to work. 
  • Good analytical skills with a technical mind-set.
  • MS Office and IT skills.  
  • Experience within the Financial services industry would be an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of book entry record keeping for financial instruments.
